The Bibles “Altar Call”

He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. Revelation 22:20

Could 2014 be the year that Jesus returns? Forget for a moment the theological notions you might have of rapture and tribulation and wars and rumors of wars (not at all to make light of Eschatology and its implications, but stay with me a moment). Are you ready for His return? But you say, "x,y, and z need to take place before..."

Let me phrase it this way, if you were to pass away (unexpectedly, of course) over the New Year's weekend, would you be ready to see Jesus? Are you prepared, as they say, to meet your Maker? You see, whether Jesus comes to us or we go to see Jesus, the end result is more or less the same.

What do you need to do to be ready? The Bible says, "That if you will confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9-10.

True spiritual readiness begins in the heart with true believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life. This belief is made active with outward confession. This kind of saving faith will lead us directly to the cross of Christ and genuine full salvation of our souls.

"For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ." Galatians 3:26-27

Through faith in Christ we "put on Christ"  this is entering into the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus in an actual, practical manner.

We who have been guilty of Christ's suffering, enter into fellowship with Him by reconciliation, obtaining the free gift of His grace through His shed blood on the cross.

A scriptural example of this process is provided with exceptional detail in Acts 2:37-39

"Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy SpiritFor the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

The Lord is calling for every soul in this final hour. Come to the altar of repentance entering into His death on the cross. Be buried with Him in baptism and reuse to walk in the resurrection power through the baptism of the Holy Spirit

Will you answer the call?
